Kia ora koutou,
it has been a challenging time for us all over the last few months but it seems like there is some light at the end of the tunnel as our community moves into the next phase of having COVID in our orbit.
The Artworks team has been working behind the scenes to ensure that we are in the strongest position that we can be to get moving again once the theatre comes off pause mode.
The Board would like to sincerely thank our team of contractors who have supported Artworks to pause, some of whom have volunteered their time to ensure that we have been able to reduce our outgoings as much as possible.
A particular acknowledgement goes to Kashmir Postel who has been central, juggling many competing priorities over this time with a calm smile. Artworks is lucky to be supported by this passionate group who are integral to the success of the venue.
Given the level of uncertainty that we have been facing, we have been unable to programme anything between now and Christmas. This means that the theatre will continue to be on pause mode until early 2022 when we will reassess programming for the first half of the year.
Between now and the 10th January 2022, the firstname.lastname@example.org email will only be checked intermittently so that the team can have a decent summer break. If you have any urgent queries during this time you can call Nick the Chair on 021423833
Finally, we would like to thank you for all of your support over this time. Thanks so much for those of you who have volunteered time or supported our fundraising efforts with donations.
We couldn't do this without you and we look forward to seeing you again soon.
Ngā mihi nui ki a koutou,
The Artworks Theatre Board
Meet our committed team
If you are thinking of booking a theatre season, an event running over a few days, a one-off show or a conference, Artworks Theatre has the flexibility and capacity to adapt to different needs. Check out the spaces below or download the info pack for technical questions, or simply make an enquiry:
The courtyard is Artworks Precinct's shared space between our neighbours: the beautifully-designed Waiheke Library, the Art Gallery, the Cinema, the Adult Education Centre, and Waiheke's own 'Ajadz' Indian restaurant. This open space offers a great atmosphere day and night and hosts diverse events.
Our quirky foyer is one of the Theatre's secret weapons. A multi-purpose space, where you can hold small meetings, run some small shows or just relax at the cafe while listening to some tunes. Luminous cafe and ticket office by day, and bar and a good place to meet before any event at night.
The auditorium, the largest indoor venue on the island, allows for seated and standing shows with different types of configurations. Local and regional theatre plays, dance events, comedy and burlesque shows and several music concerts take place every season as Artworks Theatre keeps on being 'the' venue on the island.
