Michelle Lundquist

Michelle’s love for the creative arts spans across multiple modalities. She studied Arts and Design in 2008 at Whitecliffe College in Auckland. Forever curious, she has travelled extensively abroad - finding delight in the festival sphere interacting with multitudes of people and art in an expansive environment. She has been on the installation and set-design crews of festivals such as Shambala, Enchanted forest festival, and Kiwiburn, co-creating and invoking dream-like experiences. In 2018 she became a resident artist with the Momentom collective (MC) - a travelling yoga and circus arts collective. While working with the collective she traveled to places like Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Guatemala, where she performed fire dancing, held workshops in contact dance and co-created ecstatic dance events, even making costumes for the other performers! With a mission to give back to the local community through play, circus and games - Michelle was involved with the social circus - entertaining children as part of a humanitarian initiative. Michelle has now settled on the motu where she continues to be excited to cultivate community and be a part of the arts. ‘One of the greatest gifts we can give to this community is to demonstrate play, collaboration and shared laughter. To shine our light, and to show that adults don’t need to be so serious, and we can communicate from our hearts.’
