Physicality for Stage and Character Workshop

Join theatre-makers Kayla Hamilton and Caleb Arkwright for an engaging, practical workshop exploring how movement and physical expression can bring characters to life. Through a series of guided exercises, participants will investigate physicality and movement as tools for creating dynamic stage performances.

Designed for actors, theatre-makers, dancers, and performers of all experience levels, this workshop will help you develop a stronger physical presence and discover new ways to communicate emotion, story, and character through the body.

Come ready to move, explore, and discover the power of physical storytelling.

This September, we celebrate Waiheke Performing Arts Month with a series of subsidised workshops designed to support, inspire, and upskill our island's performers, writers, directors, and theatre makers in the lead-up to the Waiheke Short Play Festival.

These workshops are about investing in our local creative community - providing opportunities to learn from leading practitioners, develop new skills, connect with fellow artists, and nurture the stories we want to tell on our stages. Whether you're an experienced theatre maker or curious to explore something new, everyone is welcome.
