Waiheke Theatre Company presents
A Christmas Carol
by Charles Dickens
adapted for the stage by John Jakes
Scrooge, possibly Dickens’ most famous character, is ferociously brought to life by Waiheke favourite John Brown in this sparkling Christmas adaptation of Dickens’ classic.
Part ghost story, part morality tale, with an enormous cast of Waiheke locals, A Christmas Carol is spine-tingling entertainment for the whole family. Spouting bile against humanity, Scrooge is dragged through the wickedness of his past and present to be shown a shocking version of his future by three ghosts, gloriously portrayed by Eileen Evans, Bruce Davis-Goff and Dylan Henchey.
Stephanie Wilkin’s previous Christmas shows The Vicar of Dibley and The Witches have been Artworks Theatre’s most popular plays in the last few years. An established local director, she brings vision, humour and a bit of Christmas magic to the stage and this production is not to be missed.
